Member Spotlight – Meet Laetitia Morrisson

Carson Rolleri

Laetitia Morrisson joined the YNPNdc Board of Directors as Co-Chair of Communications in June 2018. Outside of her work at YNPNdc, she is a senior manager of partnership development at KaBOOM!. Born in the Ivory Coast and raised in Bethesda, she’s happy to call the DMV-area home. We asked Laetitia a few questions about her life and what inspired her to join YNPNdc. Check out her answers below, and be sure to say hello at our next event!

What do you love about volunteering with YNPNdc?

Volunteering with YNPNdc allows me to work with an incredible group of non-profit rockstars to help build a community for young professionals who are passionate and dedicated to a number of important causes. I have the opportunity to help strengthen a network to connect people and create a space where young professionals can share experience, knowledge and best practices.

How have you grown at YNPNdc?

Although my day to day focuses on development, my background is in Communications and Public Relations. Through YNPNdc, I am able to tap into that experience and use those skills in a different way. In my time at YNPNdc I’ve been able to challenge my knowledge and learn about a number of organizations through my fellow Board members and the YNPNdc events.

If you could describe YNPNdc in one word, what would it be?

Opportunity.

What’s the most important life lesson you’ve learned?

Treat others like you would like to be treated! It is very easy for us to overlook people every day when we have so many responsibilities and stressors, but I’ve always believed that if we take a second to treat others how we would like to be treated, we can have a positive impact on one another.

What brought you to the non-profit world?

Working for a non-profit gives me the opportunity to give back each and every day through my day to day work. This industry will challenge you and your perception of the world but it will also give you unique opportunities to learn new skills and impact lives and communities.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

I get to bring smiles to kids, families, and communities each and every day by creating partnerships that create meaningful and tangible change in communities. I also get to do this with an incredible team of colleagues who are incredibly smart and embody the playful mission.
