YNPNdc is looking for creative, energetic, and enthusiastic volunteers to join our team.

Director of Programs

 
Position Overview

In this volunteer role, the Director of Programs is responsible for overseeing YNPNdc’s overall programs strategy and leads a talented team of volunteers that comprise the Programs Committee. This position is a member of the Board of Directors for YNPNdc, and as such, entails working collaboratively with the full Board to ensure the success of the organization.

 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Define an annual programming plan and submit for approval a corresponding annual programs budget to the full board. The Programs Committee will be responsible for updating the plan and programs budget on an annual basis.
  • Responsible for the management of all Programs Volunteer positions and ensuring Committee needs are being fulfilled by the current positions. Holds at least four Committee meetings per year.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of YNPNdc programming:
    • Current programming includes monthly Happy Hours, Inner Circles and the Mentorship Program. 
  • Identify opportunities to offer new programming and develop proposals to present to the Board. 
  • Coordinate with the Communications Committee for marketing and follow up for all events
  • Maintain a volunteer staffing plan for YNPNdc programming events. Provide a method to track Board of Directors presence at all programming events and, in partnership with the Governance Committee, hold the Board of Directors accountable for attending all events. 
  • Collaborate with other Committees to analyze the findings from the Membership Survey. Identify opportunities to integrate programming into monthly events based on survey findings.
  • Work with the Director of External Partnerships to establish and maintain strategic relationships with partner organizations to support the planning and execution of programming.
 
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Serves as a backup to volunteer responsibilities.
  • With support from the full board, define and implement methods of evaluating YNPNdc programming for impact, reach, participant satisfaction and other measures as needed.

Social Media Manager

 
Position Overview

YNPNdc’s Social Media Managers are responsible for overseeing YNPNdc’s social media strategy, including managing social media posts that promote YNPNdc’s brand, events, and resources and engage with the Greater Washington nonprofit community. This position will report to the Director of Communications and will be part of the Communications Committee.

 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee either Twitter and LinkedIn or Facebook and Instagram social media content (including the YNPNdc LinkedIn Group)
  • Work closely with other social media managers, as well as the Communications Director, to develop and implement a social media strategy
  • Collaborate across committees to share relevant resources, events, and programs
  • Communicate with YNPNdc members, nonprofit professionals and influencers via social media to create a strong network
  • Monitor social media analytics and make recommendations to increase engagement
 
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Provide graphic design support as needed
  • Generate quarterly social media report for the Communications Committee
  • Ensure all social media posts follow best practice

Strategic Partnerships Manager

 
Position Overview

The Strategic Partnerships Manager is responsible for overseeing the YNPNdc sponsorship strategy. This includes the acquisition and engagement of new sponsorships, presiding over the stewardship of current partners, and activating the fulfilment of sponsor benefits. The position will report to YNPNdc’s Director of Fundraising and Advancement and will be a part of the Fundraising Committee.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manages the market research and recruitment of new sponsorships 
  • Maintains and tracks current and new sponsorship asks and proposal development
  • Cultivates and maintains current partner relationships
  • Collaborates with the Communications and Programming Committees on the partner deliverables and benefits
  • Works closely with the Director of Fundraising and Advancement on developing and implementing outreach strategy
 
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Supports the deliverable creation with the Director of Fundraising and Advancement
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Interested in the non-profit field and YNPNdc’s mission and vision.
  • Fundraising and sponsorship experience preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to personal and professional growth
  • Ability to dedicate time to the position and organization (5-10 hours per month).

 

Grants Manager

 
Position Overview

The Grants Manager is responsible for overseeing YNPNdc’s grant management and strategy. This includes recruitment and engagement of new partnerships, management of the writing, development and grant solicitation process, and the contribution of YNPNdc’s strategic grant language. The position will report to YNPNdc’s Director of Fundraising and Advancement and will be a part of the Fundraising Committee.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manages the research and prospecting process for grants 
  • Maintains and tracks grant calendar 
  • Assists in the writing process of grant applications 
  • Supports the reporting process of grant applications
  • Works closely with the Director of Fundraising and Advancement on developing and implementing outreach strategy
 
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Aids in deliverable creation with the Director of Fundraising and Advancement
  • Collaborates with the Programming Committee to receive regular updates on programming and strategy in order to accurately update grant applications
 
Preferred Qualifications
