Absolutely not! Our membership is perfect for individuals who are:

  • DMV residents currently working, interning, or volunteering for a local nonprofit organization
  • Exploring career opportunities in the nonprofit sector
  • Seeking professional development resources and building a network

We offer a variety of professional development opportunities accessible to members and non-members including but not limited to:

  • Networking events: Meet local nonprofit professionals and peers through virtual and in-person events. Build job prospects and references. Find a professional development support system.
  • Mentorship Program: Members are eligible to be a mentee through our annual mentoring program. Mentees are matched with seasoned professionals in one-on-one mentoring relationships to  to enhance professional growth and build networking skills.
  • Hands-on training and workshops: Workshops range from a variety of topics that include resume building, health and wellness, work/life balance, and leadership development.
  • LinkedIn Group: The YNPNdc LinkedIn Group is the perfect place to learn about job openings, share ideas, and connect with other members.
  • Volunteer opportunities: YNPNdc members can volunteer on committees to grow skills such as as event planning, content development, marketing, fundraising, and strategic partnerships. 
  • Center for Nonprofit Advancement: Learn a new skill and build capacity through CNA’s training hub, resource center, and award competitions.

Absolutely not! YNPNdc is committed to providing accessible resources for all professionals and supporters of nonprofit community in the Greater Washington DC area, regardless of membership status. However, members benefit from free or discounted event prices, access to member-only mixers and holiday events, and exclusive offers from our partner organizations.

YNPNdc is an all volunteer-run 501(c)(3) organization. Through paid membership, YNPNdc is able to provide professional development and networking events to the entire YNPNdc community in order to build a stronger network of nonprofit leaders. And to show our gratitude, we provide enhanced benefits for our members!

All eligible memberships will be activated once we receive your payment. Members can access membership benefits immediately after sign-up.

No, YNPNdc membership cannot be canceled or refunded. Individual and student memberships are active for one year from the day of sign-up, and members will have the option to renew before membership expires.

YNPNdc membership operates on a rolling basis. Individual and student memberships are valid for one year from the day of sign-up. You will receive an automated renewal notice two weeks prior to the end of your year-long membership.
