The Case for Sharing your Feedback with YNPNdc

YNPNdc Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee

While YNPNdc has always aimed to be an inclusive space for young nonprofit professionals to effect change in the greater community, we understand that there is more work to be done to champion the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee plans to take a critical look at our strategy, programs, and opportunities to identify and improve areas where we’re falling short. We are excited to kick off our work with a short, targeted survey on racial equity to determine where to focus our efforts to make the most meaningful change. Although each of us on the committee comes with our own experiences and ideas, we cannot possibly expect to understand the experiences of everyone at YNPNdc, which is why we encourage all of our members to share their valuable input with us.

We recognize that DEI work is multi-faceted and that there are many areas that require urgent action. We feel that focusing our attention on racial equity will be the most impactful work at this time because we know that identifying as BIPOC or AAPI compounds all other oppressions. We intend to be intentional about intersecting identities in our work to be an antiracist organization. Still, we always welcome our members to share their thoughts on any issues they feel are important and we look forward to continuing to make changes to better our organization and the greater community.
